I will be back for the third time next week. Why? I really like the more intimate nature of guest-houses, rather than for me what is the more sterile nature of more upmarket hotels ( and I can stay at these if I want but I dont often). Green Gables is "cosy" and feels safe; is very centrally located; you could survive the whole day on the delicious wholesome breakfast if you wanted to and importantly a nice personal touch from the host(s)
I really loved the place..it was quiet, and the rooms cosy and warm. I enjoyed my morning breakfast which had a variety of tasty food..To be honest next time I visit Johannesburg, I will still stay at GREEN GABLES.

Green Gables is very convenient for Rivonia/Sandton, close to restaurants and in a nice quiet and secluded location. Very comfortable accommodation, breakfast excellent and the hosts very accommodating and pleasant.

Lovely rooms that keep you super warm in the winter. The staff are very friendly and it feels like a home away from home. It is a very good locaction, near to Sandton City. I would definitely go back.

I recently stayed at Green Gables for a few days. The accommodation is first class and so is the service and helpful attitude of Christopher, the owner and his staff.
Yes, a guest house/ B&B but at a standard and quality that takes it way beyond expectations. Every detail has been looked to, from room comforts to a constant supply of delicious cakes baked on site.
Fantastic location and very nice hospitable people. A nice room with your own garden and patio for a very good price. Good shops in the neighbourhood at walking distance. We had a room with a small kitchen which is excellent if you don't want to go out for dinner every evening.
I highly recommend this Guest House. My colleague and I spend a lot of time on business in Gauteng and Green Gables has become our second home. The service is fantastic, the facilities are world class and the gardens are just beautiful. Well done!
I stayed here twice in February 2014 and honestly I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Jo'burg. From the beautiful rooms (I stayed in the Owl room) to the breakfasts which were held in a a small dining room with other guests and always with either Chris, who was the perfect host, or Nomfundo, his P.A.

Everything was perfect right down to the finishing touches- (heatin on when we arrived, lights on and tv on etc.) Also didnt have to ask for an iron which is rare! Will certainly come again..

Excellent bed and breakfast in a safe and quiet suburb in the Sandton area of Johannesburg. Wonderfully comfortable and well-maintained rooms and gardens, and a very welcoming host, which made for a restful and restorative stay.

I normally stay in 5-star hotels so Green Gables was really unusual for me. But I'm so glad I stayed. It made me realise how important 'connection' really is.
Just outside the hectic of Jo'burg. Wonderful gardens, swimmingpool (small but good enough), convenient rooms, helpfull owner + staff and delicious breakfast. All you need to explore Jo'burg, Sandton, Rivonia and even Pretoria.
